General Types of disk drive

1. LTO Ultrium
Linear Tape-Open (or LTO) is a magnetic tape data storage technology originally developed in the late 1990s as an open standards alternative to the proprietary magnetic tape formats that were available at the time. Seagate, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM initiated the LTO Consortium, which directs development and manages licensing and certification of media and mechanism manufacturers. The standard form-factor of LTO technology goes by the name Ultrium, the original version of which was released in 2000 and could hold 100 GB of data in a single cartridge. The most recent version was released in 2010 and can hold 1.5 TB in the same size cartridge. Since 2002, LTO has been the best selling "super tape" format and is widely used with small and large computer systems, especially for backup.

Digital Linear Tape (DLT) (previously called CompacTape) is a magnetic tape data storage technology developed by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) from 1984 onwards. In 1994 the technology was purchased by Quantum Corporation, who currently manufactures drives and licenses the technology and trademark. A variant with higher capacity is called Super DLT (SDLT). The lower cost "value line" was initially manufactured by Benchmark Storage Innovations under license from Quantum. Quantum acquired Benchmark in 2002.

3. VXA

VXA is the newly launched magnetic tape technology oriented at low end market. VXA-1, the first generation of VXA technology bears 66GB storage volume for single device with 6MB/S data transmission power after compression which is 3 times of DDS-3 on volume and performance, enjoys the same speed of DDS-4 and exceed the volume of DDS-4.
Disk drive is extremely vital to computer. However user would sometimes damage hard drive due to improper operation or abrupt power failure resulting in data loss. Fortunately, it is now possible to recover those lost data by utilizing data recover software. MiniTool Power Data Recovery - a powerful data recovery program could be the very option, which can recovery data from recover formatted partition, deleted partition, lost partition and damaged partition. If you need it, you can have a try. Some of the editions are FREE.
